He earned his BA in journalism from New York University and received his MA in writing at the University of Southern California. Currently, he serves on the Executive Board of the USC MPW Alumni Association.

Raised in Chula Vista, California, Jethro has lived in New York City, San Francisco and Madrid. He currently resides in Los Angeles with his partner and their dogs: Jax and Roxy.
